Research Interests

Craig's primary research interest is the intersection of Opera and Sexuality.  He recently studied the impact of the #MeToo movement on the staging and presentation of standard repertory operas.  His DMA document entitled "Time's Up:  How Opera is Facing Its Own Me Too Reckoning" has been featured at the 2021 National Opera Association Conference, was highlighted in the March/April 2021 issue of Journal of Singing, and was presented at the 2022 National Association of Teachers of Singing conference.  This document is available via the ProQuest Dissertations Database (Document number 27835307) or via the University of South Carolina Scholar Commons.

You may find additional information on Craig's research and academic pursuits via his academic Twitter account at the link below.   You can find more of his writing on his blog  Problematic Opera.
